The first of those films, “The Chase” features a curiously attractive innocent bystander, who, while waiting patiently for her bus, witnesses a thief snatch a bag from an elderly woman. The attractive young woman gives chase and takes it upon herself to apprehend the thief, ignoring the unfortunate circumstances that result in first her sweater, and then her dress to be pulled away causing her to continue the chase dressed only in her lingerie and, thankfully, a sensible pair of everyday flats. The pursuit sends the two racing through a surprised TV watcher’s living room, down suburban streets, and hurtling over garbage in an alleyway before the chase concludes when our scantily clad heroine tackles the thief in broad daylight and lets him know “You’re going down!” followed by the tagline, “Sexy never takes a day off.”

This is the first of three films to be released by Agent Provocateur and directed by Nick Jones. After recent run ins with various advertising authorities it seems a smart choice by the client to create advertising directed towards those that actually may want to wear their lingerie.

Shot on location in Granada Hills at the famed enclave of Eichler homes the spot show cases Graeme’s great talent for design and art direction. Scott Weintrob has completed production for a series of films with advertising agency Fallon for luxury car client Cadillac. Shot in San Francisco and LA we cannot wait to have these films to show. Nick Jones returned from a shoot in Havana, Cuba, (it’s ok he’s British) and after a quick rub down at Paris’s Charles De Gaulle Airport completed shooting and editing a series of films for lingerie client Agent Provocateur. It’s a tough life for some. KN+SAW continue to be busy with their successful careers as still photographers and recently completed a motion film with babies “Every Step of the Way”. All new films available for viewing at the respective directors link on WWW.LIMEY.TV.

Lifetripper is a short film detailing a glimpse into the day-to-day life of an everyday working man. Stunningly shot, and lovingly composed, this film is humorous and touching in equal measures.

Rob Benedict plays Stan, a single father and mechanic, whose daily conversations and routine lead him to unearthing a comedic flair. The monotonous tone of work and the slow pace of home life juxtapose perfectly with fast paced conversation and the bright lights of stand up comedy.

This tale of an average life, a search for something more, is artfully told and beautifully portrayed. Bitter-sweet, and funny in places, at only fifteen minutes in length, there is no reason that this film should be missed.

★★★★

Graeme Joyce was raised in The Cotswolds, the heart of the English countryside. After a stint at art school, a summer visit to Los Angeles sparked an interest and a career in visual media. During time spent on the city’s commercial sets, Graeme shot some footage of a friend’s band using a Bolex hand cranked camera. Lip-sync was fudged in post and the resulting spec was seen by Scott Weiland who hired Joyce to direct two clips for his band Stone Temple Pilots. The Music Video Producer Association (MVPA) awarded the “Directorial Debut Award” to the band’s video “Wicked Garden” directed by Graeme.

With a loving memory of British adverts from his childhood as an inspiration, Graeme’s exquisite design sensibility and flair for storytelling led him into commercials, directing innovative spots for such impressive clients as Target, Mercedes and British Airways.

His short film ‘Lifetripper’, currently doing the festival circuit, is Graeme’s first venture into narrative film. The film written by Graeme follows the life of a middle-aged mechanic as he questiones his future whilst taking the bus to and from work. The bitter sweet film recently won Best Drama at the Super Shorts 2011 International Film Festival in London.

Whatever the medium, Robert Bresson’s sentiment that ‘It is with something clean and precise that you will force the attention of inattentive eyes and ears’ is an aesthetic approach held in high regard by Graeme.

He currently lives in Silver Lake, Los Angeles with his family.

He ended up focusing on his true love – comedy, and has directed over 15 hours of broadcast comedy including sketch shows and ‘specials’.

Nick studied theatre design, film and photography at the prestigious Central St Martins in London. He started out editing and directing music videos before moving into television and commercials.

Along the way Nick developed his distinctive style and his keen eye for casting and working with actors, discovering and giving the first TV breaks to: Simon Pegg – ‘Shaun of the Dead’, Mackenzie Crook – ‘Pirates of the Carribean’, Sanjeev Bhaskar – ‘The Kumars’, Amanda Holden and Jessica Stephenson and most of the cast of ‘The Office’ – Martin Freeman, Olivia Coleman, and Matt Holness. Nick even introduced Ricky Gervais to the BBC prior to ‘The Office’. Nick discovered ‘Mitchell & Webb’ and put them in a sketch series for BBC2 called ‘Bruiser’.

Nick Directed and co-wrote much of the material involved, so he knows exactly where the gag lies, and how not to tread on it or spoof it. He has a keen eye for the look and style of comedy and a natural feel for how best to stage things to get the appropriate laughs.

Advertising director credits include TV commercials for; Southern Trains, Ikea, Burger King, Match.com, Subway, Sony Playstation, Polaroid, Irn-Bru, Kodak, Mini, Citroen, 118 118, amongst many others.
